Sculpture is an art medium I am excited on further developing. Abstract portrayals of the human figure and condition were concepts I wanted to reach in these pieces. Influences include Ruth Asawa and Magdalena Abakanowicz.
This gallery is a collection of both oil and acrylic paintings, exploring themes within identity, nostalgia and isolation. As I developed my painting style, I was influenced and inspired by artists like Alice Neel and Tracey Emin.
This gallery includes my projects exploring mediums of pastel chalks, graphite and watercolour. The use of figures, simplicity, concept and colour palette were largely inspired by Egon Schiele.
Fibre Art has deep connections to femininity and concepts of domesticity. I wanted to take this media and embrace its rich history and roots. Mediums such as embroidery and sewing remind me of the strong women in my life as well as my Artist role models such as Ruth Asawa or Magdalena Abakanowicz.
Film and photography are medias that I am greatly interested in and hope to develop. In terms of film production, I am heavily inspired by cinematography in portraying a story without words. Film inspirations included Maya Deren and visual use of framing was inspired by Edward Hopper.
